Vaelo is built to help you through moments of panic and anxiety. What you record about those moments is deeply personal, so we designed the app to keep your data on your own devices and out of our hands.
Vaelo does not have a server that stores your personal information. Your breathing sessions, grounding exercises, logged episodes, notes, triggers and any emergency contact you add are stored locally on your device. If you enable iCloud, that data syncs privately through your own Apple iCloud account, which we cannot access.
This app is provided by Yasin Halit Karayağız ("we", "us", "our"), the developer of Vaelo (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles and how. You can reach us at privacy@vaelo.app.
When you use Vaelo, the following information may be created and stored locally on your device:
This information never leaves your device except through the optional iCloud sync described below. We, as the developer, have no access to it.
If you are signed in to iCloud and have iCloud enabled for Vaelo, your App data is synced across your own Apple devices using Apple's CloudKit private database. This data lives in your personal iCloud account and is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not operate this storage and cannot view, retrieve or share its contents. You can turn iCloud sync off in your device settings at any time.
Vaelo offers an optional subscription (Vaelo Pro) with monthly and yearly plans and an introductory free trial. All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see or receive your name, card number or payment details.
To determine whether your subscription is active, the App checks your entitlement status through Apple's StoreKit framework on your device. This process does not send your personal information to us. Purchase handling is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
Vaelo does not include third-party advertising SDKs and does not track you across other apps or websites. Apple may provide us with anonymous, aggregated statistics (for example, download numbers or aggregate crash reports) through App Store Connect. This information is aggregated and cannot be used to identify you individually.
Some of what you record — such as episode intensity or triggers — may relate to your mental health. Because this information is sensitive, Vaelo keeps it on your device (and in your private iCloud if enabled). We do not collect it, transmit it to our own servers, or use it for any purpose. Vaelo is a self-help wellness tool and is not a medical device, diagnosis, or a substitute for professional care.
Because your data is stored on your own device and in your own iCloud account, you remain in control of it at all times:
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another region with data protection laws (such as the GDPR), you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, and restriction. Since we do not hold your personal data on our servers, these rights are exercised directly through the controls on your device. If you have any questions, contact us at privacy@vaelo.app.
Vaelo is not directed to children under the age required by your local law to consent to data processing (at least 13, and 16 in some regions). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
